This shawl is hand embroidered with Papíer Machié technique by talented artisans from Kashmir, India, Flowers, and leaves are worked out in satin stitch to resemble the painting style on Papier Machie objects. Artisans of a village near Srinagar practice this technique especially. Labonie celebrates the artisans’ pride and perseverance to nurture their heritage in a highly technology-driven world.
